Approved, Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Be Made?

After success with the project Re-Imagine Resident Evil 2 and 3, Capcom is reportedly working on the 4th series which is now in full production with an estimated release in 2022.

Capcom Has Approved Resident Evil 4 Remake

This development is led by Osaka-based Studio, M-Two. A new studio founded by the former head of Platinum Games, Tatsuya Minami. Reportedly, Tatsuya has been preparing for this project since 2021.

Just like when Resident Evil 3 directed by the Red Works company, Capcom’s in-house team and outside studios will provide significant development material.

This is understandable because the project remake this has the blessing of the original game’s director Shinji Mikami, who has officially declined the invitation to lead the project but is willing to provide input.

The studio working on the remake project has been operating since 2021 and is filled by many former Platinum and Capcom employees.

Highly Influential Game

Resident Evil 4 released in 2005. The game changed direction from fixed camera Becomes 3rd person view. The fans had scorned because of the drastic change, but it was finally accepted and even now it is considered one of the most influential games because of innovation 3rd person off-the-shoulder which was later adopted by other similar genre games.

Resident Evil 4 take the action style than its predecessor series which is more horror. Nevertheless, Resident Evil 4 success keeps people excited when playing it. The main enemies in the game are not zombies but a group of fanatical religious organizations called Los Illuminados.

Released Since 2007

Resident Evil 4 originally released for the GameCube. It was later released for the PlayStation 2 with new content. Nintendo Wii also got in 2007 with features motion control aiming where players can aim directly using the wiimote. The game was later remastered HD for PS 3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2011, later re-released for PlayStation 4, XboX One, and Nintendo Switch.

If you pay attention, Resident Evil 3 Remake presents several features that could potentially appear in Resident Evil 4 Remake, such as the addition of a parasitic zombie – which is similar to Plagas Resident Evil 4 – and there is at least one QTE (Quick Time Event) moment that thickly adorns the 4th game.

Although many original team members Resident Evil 4 remain at Capcom, it is still unclear if they have any involvement with the M-Two project. Reportedly, the name M-Two is a reference to Mikami and Minami, who worked closely at Capcom and PlatinumGames.
